A couple who phoned pest control when they heard 'buzzing' in their kitchen had to have three million bees removed.

Jesus Molina and his girlfriend had to temporarily move out of their apartment in Miami when the pest control team realised how big the swarm had become.

According to the Sun, he said: "We kept hearing the buzzing but thought that it would go away."

Over 60 lbs of honey was removed.

A pest control officer said: "That's the most bees I've seen in one place."

A schoolboy caused £270,000 of damage to a block of flats after setting off a firework in his bedroom.

The 11-year-old, not named for legal reasons, lit a rocket in his bedroom in the Austrian capital Vienna, but it flew into curtains and set them on fire.

The blaze spread quickly and soon engulfed his room and then spread to the rest of the flat and to a neighbouring flat and another apartment above.

The entire block of flats was evacuated as fire fighters battled to put out the flames.

No one was hurt but two flats were totally destroyed and others damaged and authorities have put the cost of repair at £270,000.

A US art teacher has been suspended after bosses learned of his sideline - painting with his bum.

US schoolteacher Stephen Murmer has been suspended after bosses learned of his unusual sideline - painting pictures like this, with his buttocks /Stan Murmur

Stephen Murmer had posted a video on YouTube demonstrating his unusual technique.

He also had his own website - www.buttprintart.com - featuring his work and the video, reports the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

In the video, in which he places his buttocks in paint and then sits on a canvas, he goes under the name Stan Murmer and disguises himself with Groucho Marx-style glasses and moustache.

His paintings, typically depicting flowers and butterflies, are priced from £250 to £450.

After learning of the video, school officials at Monacan High School in Chesterfield County, Virginia, put Mr Murmer on paid leave.

But Kent Willis, executive director of the ACLU of Virginia, said Mr Murmer was "a well-respected, responsible teacher who does his job.

"Separate from that, he is an artist, he uses a pseudonym, he even disguises himself when he appears on this video," he said.

A school spokesman said teachers were expected to set an example for students. The school board is expected to consider the case next month.

School board chairman Marshall W Trammell Jr said he had seen a lot of things "but this is probably the most unique that I've ever seen."

A teacher who did not have time to escort three students to the restroom is under fire for allegedly telling them to urinate in a soda bottle.

The students did as they were told, said Thomas Field, interim superintendent of Wicomico County schools.

The incident happened Friday at Salisbury Middle School, where restroom vandalism led to a policy that some students had to be escorted to the restroom.

Students said the eighth grade teacher — who was not identified by the school pending a review of the matter — could not find anyone to escort three students and told them to urinate into a soda bottle.

Although the teacher has not been disciplined, Field said the administration's investigation was focused on the behavior of the teacher, not the students.

"In our judgement, now, the students did not do anything to warrant disciplinary action," Field told The Associated Press. "They did what they were told to do. We hold the adult responsible for what happened."

The fate of the teacher has yet to be determined, said Allen Brown, Wicomico County's assistant superintendent for Student Services.
